We aim to reply within two business days. For account-deletion requests, include the phone number on the account; we'll send a one-time code to verify before we delete.
Frequently asked
The questions that come up most often.
- My keyholder hasn't responded. What happens?
Nothing happens — and that's the point. If your keyholder doesn't approve or deny before the next daily reset boundary, your override request expires and you stay locked. Silence is denial. Fail-closed is the product.
- Can my keyholder undo a grant that's already active?
No. Once a grant is issued it runs until its expiry. There is no early-cancel button — neither for you nor for the keyholder. A commitment device you can wriggle out of mid-slip is not a commitment device.
- Can my keyholder see which apps I've blocked?
No. iOS gives kydos an opaque, device-local handle for your selection. We never decode it on our backend, and your keyholder only ever sees counts and labels (for example, "5 apps, 1 category").
- What does kydos collect?
Your phone number (for OTP sign-in), the commitments and override requests you create, the audit log of state changes, and your iOS push token. We do not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
- How do I delete my account?
Email support@kydos.app from any address with the subject "Delete my account" and include the phone number on the account. Because login is by phone OTP, we'll send a one-time code to that number to verify you control it. Once you reply with the code, we delete your profile, commitments, push tokens, and override requests.
The append-only audit log retains the cryptographic record of past state transitions but is no longer linked to a live account.
- I lost access to my phone number.
We're sorry — that one is hard. Because the account is keyed to the phone number and we deliberately don't collect a recovery email, we cannot transfer an account onto a new number based on an email alone. Reach out at support@kydos.app and we'll do what we can.
- Will kydos work on Android, macOS, or in a browser?
Not yet. kydos is iOS-only for the current MVP because the device-level blocking we rely on is Apple's Family Controls framework. If you want to be notified when other platforms ship, join the waitlist.
- Something is broken / I want to report a bug.
Email support@kydos.app with your iOS version, the kydos build number (Settings → About), and a short description of what you were doing when it broke. Screenshots help.
